Emmerdale’s Amy Walsh has announced she has given birth. The soap actress welcomed her second child into the world with her partner, former EastEnders actor Toby-Alexander Smith. Amy is best known for her role of Tracy Metcalfe in the fictional Yorkshire village.
Amy shared the news in a post on Instagram. Posting a photo of her newborn’s legs, still with a hospital tag on, she wrote: “This time last week I was heading into established labour. We’ve been in the most magical bubble ever since.”
The actress was flooded with support with her followers and co-stars after the adorable announcement.
One user said: “Awww amazing, Amy! Congratulations to you all xxx.” A second said: “Huge congratulations.” A third wrote: “Congratulations to you all family of 4 now.”
Amy announced she was pregnant on social media last September. The actress shared a black and white video to the song ‘Northern Sky’, by Nick Drake. In the video Amy told her daughter Bonnie-Mae that she can expect another sibling as she has “got a baby” in her tummy.
In the video Amy can be heard saying: “Mummy and daddy have got a special secret to tell you. Mummy has got a baby in her tummy. A baby sister or brother for you.” Amy, Toby, and daughter Bonnie’s hands then moved to show a scan of the baby.
The post was captioned: “Smith/Walsh baby 2.0 incoming 2026.”
Amy and her partner Toby, who played Gray Atkins on EastEnders, welcomed Bonnie-Mae in December 2021.
Amy isn’t the only Emmerdale star to welcome a newborn into the world in 2026. Isabel Hodgins thrilled fans when she announced the news she had given birth to her first child with her husband Adam Whitehead last month.
The Victoria Sugden actress informed fans she had given birth to her first child in a video posted on social media. Isabel shared a video of herself from hospital singing to her tummy, before the screen switched to a blank page. Isabel wrote: “On the 11th of February at 1.02am….”
The sound of a baby crying could be heard as she added: “Georgie Grace Whitehead. 11.02.26. 8Ibs 5oz” with pink love heart emojis. The post was followed up by a polaroid photo of Isabel holding her new born. She captioned the heartwarming post: “And then we heard you”.
Isabel has since been keeping fans updated on what life looks like as a new mum.
