Meghan Markle captured a heartwarming backstage moment with her husband, Prince Harry, after their joint appearance at the Project Healthy Mind Gala on Thursday.

In a video posted to Instagram Stories on Friday, the Duchess of Sussex was seen laughing as Harry seemed to share a joke behind the scenes.

No audio from their interaction was included; instead, Sylvie Vartan’s “Baby, C’est Vous” played in the background as the couple enjoyed the moment together.

“Happy World Mental Health Day,” Meghan Markle captioned the clip on Instagram, adding, “…to the man who always keeps me laughing,” and ending with a red heart emoji.

The couple made a rare red carpet appearance at the New York City gala, coordinating in stylish black suits. Meghan, 44, wore a plunging Armani blazer paired with matching slacks and a bold gold chain necklace, while Prince Harry, 41, opted for a classic black suit and tie with a white shirt.

During the red carpet appearance, Prince Harry playfully grabbed Meghan Markle’s rear, displaying a moment of public affection as cameras snapped, while the couple also held hands, with Meghan looking up at Harry lovingly in several shots.

The longtime mental health advocates were honored with the Humanitarians of the Year award for their work through the Archewell Foundation, helping make the online world safer for families and young people.

Ahead of the gala, the couple released a statement: “As parents ourselves, we have been moved to action by the power of their stories and are honored to support them,” referencing their children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4.

“We’re proud to be long-time partners of Project Healthy Minds as we work together to highlight one of the most pressing issues of our time,” Meghan Markle said.

In her speech, she discussed the challenges social media poses for young people. “Luckily, they’re still too young for social media, but we know that day is coming,” she said of their children.

She added: “And like so many parents, we think constantly about how to embrace technology’s benefits while safeguarding against its dangers. And that hopeful intention of separation is rapidly becoming impossible.”

Markle and Prince Harry were married in a lavish royal ceremony in the UK in 2018. They stepped back from their roles as senior members of the British royal family in 2020 and moved to Montecito, California, where they are raising Archie and Lilibet.
