Ashley Darby isn’t revealing too much about Mauricio Umansky’s upcoming cameo on The Real Housewives of Potomac.
“He’s a smooth cat,” Ashley, 37, teased Us Weekly on October 6 while celebrating season 10 of the Bravo series. “That guy is very smooth.”
When asked if Gizelle Bryant might flirt with Kyle Richards’ estranged husband on camera, Ashley said, “I don’t know. I think they have, like, some sort of friendship from before. There’s more there that I don’t even know about.”
The season 10 trailer, released on August 28, showed Mauricio, 55, mingling with the cast. In one clip, he greets Gizelle with a hug and a cheek kiss, saying, “Hey Gizelle, how are you?” to which she replies, “It’s great to see you.”
While viewers may have been surprised by the cameo, Kyle Richards, 56, revealed she knew about it thanks to a Bravo colleague.
“Kyle told me that Gizelle sent her a DM saying, ‘Oh, we bumped into him. He’s in the trailer,’” Ashley Darby shared during an Amazon Live appearance on September 2.
Us Weekly confirmed in July 2023 that Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky were taking time apart after 27 years of marriage. The couple remains cordial and has not filed for divorce.
When asked if Kyle might be upset by Mauricio’s upcoming cameo on The Real Housewives of Potomac, Ashley suggested there’s nothing to worry about. “I don’t think so. I know that Gizelle has made mention of him on her ‘Reasonably Shady’ podcast,” she said. “I don’t know if the water’s got a little choppy after that with Kyle and Mauricio, but I don’t know where it stands now.”
Ashley Darby said, “I want to know. I’m ready. When the episode airs, I’m gonna dive right into it, because I want to know what’s happening.”
Meanwhile, on a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Gizelle Bryant was asked about her dating life, including whether she’d ever go out with Mauricio Umansky. “I would not. Girl code,” she replied. “He’s an amazingly beautiful man, but I would not because of Kyle.”
Ashley also gave Us Weekly a glimpse into her own dating life following her divorce from Michael Darby. While she remains friendly with Love Hotel contestant Ralph Mastrangelo, she says she’s now actively looking for a serious relationship.
“Now that I’m actually really dating and I’m officially divorced, I’m a little more serious about it,” Ashley explained. “I think that was another part of it when I was dating while separated, I was still like, ‘I’m still married, I’m dating to have fun.’ But now that I’m 37, I feel like I’m really ready to actually have a relationship.”
